Our Mission
Beit HaZohar NYC is a vibrant Chabad-inspired Sephardic Orthodox synagogue rooted in the traditions of Moroccan and North African Jewry, infused with the warmth and outreach spirit of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. We welcome Jews of every background — whether you grew up Sephardic, Ashkenazic, or are just beginning your journey.
Daily Services
Shacharit, Mincha, and Maariv seven days a week with Sephardic nusach and Chabad melodies.
Torah Classes
Weekly Tanya shiur, Parasha class, and Halacha learning — in English and French.
Shabbat Experience
Friday night dinner, Shabbat day kiddush, and monthly farbrengen for the whole community.

Rabbi Azoulay has served the Sephardic community for over 20 years, bringing warmth, scholarship, and deep devotion to Jewish life on the Upper West Side.
Hazzan Yosef Benhaim
Cantor & Baal Tefillah
Hazzan Benhaim leads our services with the beautiful melodies of the Sephardic tradition, preserving the nusach passed down through generations.
